ILMI BOOKSHOP AND PUBLICATIONS DIVISION
Ilmi Bookshop and IET Publications Division constitute business wings of IET. This also assists the organization in its da’wah activities by making available needed Islamic literature, audio cassettes, CDs and DVDs at affordable and cheaper rates to Muslims within Nigeria and beyond. The Publications Division publishes books on Islam, some of which are recommended textbooks for secondary schools in Nigeria.
Ilimi Bookshop
In 2008, Ilmi Bookshop had a good business relationship with Goodword Books in India. We have in sold or distributed 5,094 copies of Goodword Publications.
IET Publications
The Publications Division published the revised edition of New Junior Islamic Studies Books 1, 2 & 3 as well as the revised edition of Senior Islamic Studies 1, 2 & 3 in 2008. It also brought out a new edition of The Young Muslim Book 1.
We embarked seriously on the promotion of these books to various regions of the country using our network of Muslim Student Societies to have the two sets of books approved through various State Ministries of Education. There has been success in some states.
As a result of our promotion, we sold or distributed 6,196 of both the Junior and Senior Islamic studies in 2008. We have also received an order to supply Zamfara State Government with 16,000 copies of Senior Islamic Studies Books 1, 2 & 3 for secondary schools in the state.
Copies of the Islamic Studies series are currently being exported for sale in the Gambia and Ghana. We also sent sample copies to both Liberia and Sierra Leone in search of markets during the period under review.
Both the Bookshop and the Publication Division have been to improve their financial situation over the year 2007 and look forward to future expansion of operations.
